Many of the neighborhoods surrounding Denver’s West Federal Boulevard are known for having a wonderful selection of ethnic markets and eateries. One such food-o-phile’s dream destination is the Pacific Ocean Marketplace located at 2200 W Alameda Avenue in Denver (with locations in Broomfield and Aurora as well). Since its doors opened in 1989, founders Trong and Tran Lam have been bringing international delights to the people of Denver.
This place is amazing! I remember shopping here years ago, and although it has always been a pretty interesting place to explore, Trong and Tran have taken the grocery shopping experience to a whole new level in recent years.
Shoppers can take their time (and you will want to) perusing the beautiful selection of produce, noodle and dumpling section, and isles of hot and sweet sauces, spices, ramens, teas, and live seafood tanks. There are also a bakery and deli that will knock your socks off. One can buy a whole roasted pig, a pei king duck, or just enjoy a couple of spring rolls and some black sticky rice with sesame seeds and sugar. Did I mention the house made kimchi and tofu?
I could literally spend hours in this place and probably find fifty new culinary delights each time I do. So, if you love food and are seeking something to get your creative culinary juices flowing (and an unforgettable experience to boot), the Pacific Ocean Marketplace is a must.
