Growing up in rural Colorado, many hours were spent navigating the washboard dirt roads between my house and town. I fondly recall sitting next to my father as a child in his tan 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser (aka the Beast) with the radio cranked up and a dust plume behind us. The dial was always set to Colorado Public Radio.
And that is how lifelong habits are formed. No matter where I find myself in Colorado, the first thing I do when I get into a car is scan the tuner until I find the local CPR station. In the mountains, it is usually 88.3 FM, and in Denver, 90.1 FM. Here is a handy map to find the best CPR stations throughout the state.
