Am I here for the coffee? Maybe a quick tune up on my 10-speed De Rosa? Nope…I’m here for the craft beer selection tonight. That’s exactly what the establishment strives to bring you in for – the beer. The Denver Bicycle Cafe is a breath of fresh air in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood. It offers community, working space, WiFi, and Hi-Fi.
I stopped in with a couple of buddies to grab a drink – a Gunny Black Lager to be exact. While it’s been around for five years (my how time flies) the scene stays fresh. The addition of the Beer Hall on the west side certainly helped diversify the business and clientele.
The joint has four distinct areas, which offer a variety of different experiences. You can sit outside on the patio; chill in the coffee shop and jam out some work; hang around the bike shop; or lounge in the Beer Hall. Moreover, you can support a local business in the process. The two owners are longtime friends and Coloradans. The coffee shop serves locally roasted coffees and teas.
Denver Bicycle Cafe pays attention to detail too with it’s whiskey bottle honey pourer at the coffee station. The no-frills eats in the cafe are perfect to quench your insatiable munchies.
It’s a great location to get away from the heart of Downtown or rest after visiting the Denver Zoo, City Park, or the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
